Her story:

Anggun is estimated to be 5 years old and was reported to us in mid-April. Now, after being brought to our clinic, she will first settle in and, following further observation, we will decide when to start getting her used to a wheelchair and what further medical treatment may be required. Her name is Indonesian for ‘graceful’ – and we think that suits her very well.

Anggun was found near the airport in mid-April – paralysed, severely weakened and barely able to move. As soon as she was reported to us, our team set off immediately. What surprised everyone was that, instead of dragging her hind legs along the ground, she held them in the air – something nobody on our team had ever seen before. The capture operation went well and she was brought to our clinic shortly afterwards.Anggun is now safely under our care and is being monitored by our veterinary team. The cause of the paralysis is thought to be trauma, something we see very often following road accidents.
